Four cafés. One book. Twenty-seven years in hospitality. Still on the floor.
I own four cafés in Auckland and have spent 27 years in hospitality. This is where I share practical lessons on business, hospitality, AI and building a life that works.
Founder-operator. Author. Still on the floor.
New Flagship Service
I’ve been building something else.
“I didn’t set out to build software. I set out to build answers.”
Over the past eight months, you may have seen me write a book, run workshops and share ideas online.
What you probably haven’t seen is the business operating system I’ve been building behind the scenes to run my own companies.
It brings together banking, accounting, payroll, supplier invoices, COGS, tax, revenue and household finances into one place — helping me understand what’s happening across my businesses in minutes instead of hours.
Today it’s how I run four cafés. Now I’m building it for other owner-operators.
Built between 2014 and 2025.

About
A working operator.
I bought a house with one goal in mind: to use it as a stepping stone into business ownership.
A few years later, my wife and I sold that house, moved our young family into my father’s place and used the proceeds to open our first café.
Since then, Goodness Gracious has grown to four locations. Along the way there has been growth, mistakes, staff challenges, COVID, rising costs and all the realities that come with building a business over the long term.
The lessons on this site come from operating real businesses, leading teams and spending years on the floor serving customers.
